Joseph Creek Erosion

These photos clearly illustrate why mowing to a creek's edge and removing deep rooted vegetation damages stability.  It is is unfortunate this wonderful trail was placed so close to creek's edge.  If riparian zone recommendations had been followed this may not have happened for it can be seen that where trees remain the severe erosion and slippage has not taken place.

  1. It seems questionable that the grass is still being cut short in this area given the erosion that is taking place. However, it is even more questionable why Rotary Way was built so close to the creek, especially as it appears that the bank on this side of the creek is fill.

I wonder what the City plans to do to ensure the public's safety along this stretch of Rotary Way?
