Child Care Crisis

On the state of Cranbrook Child Care:

Talking to staff of different child care programs this fall, it became apparent that there is more demand than there are spaces.  Infant care has a two year wait list.  After school care is a huge issue here.  Staff receive a few calls a month from people wanting to move here (either being transferred, or by choice), but once they discover that we have a wait list for child care, they may well change their minds about moving here.

This video speaks volumes about the economic implications of lack of child care.
