Introduction to Permaculture

It is unfortunate that this event conflicts with Mt Baker's Arts Gala.  However if you are a gardener or thinking of growing your own food, or wish to know more about sustainable healthy community, this is bound to be of interest.

Permaculture is sustainable land use design.

A Fast Growing Movement for Positive Change

February 9th 2011, Cranbrook, BC

We are pleased to present a complimentary evening Permaculture workshop in Cranbrook on February 9th. Taught by Rob Avis of Calgary's Verge Permaculture, the workshop is one stop in Rob's two week permaculture road show of Eastern BC. The workshop will discuss the fundamentals of permaculture ethics, principles and design methodology and how it can be applied to:

•improve your home & backyard while saving resources and building a healthy place for family, friends and community;

•build resilient communities patterned after ecological principles; and

•assemble landscapes that clean water, use less energy, provide healthy organic food, save money and contribute to a healthy ecology.

This event is a great introduction to the full 72 hour Permaculture Design Certificate Course that will be offered at Clear Sky in April 2011.
Date: Wednesday Feb 9th, 6:30-9:30pm, Location: College of the Rockies, Cranbrook. Lecture Theatre CR MCR 250: Go in the main front doors, through the foyer, turn left. The theatre is on the right hand side on the corner.
