City Council Meeting is tonight 6pm at City Hall. Some of the issues on today's agenda include;
Committee Recommendations;
Cranbrook in Motion Committee re: Cranbrook in Motion Committee Recommendations from Nov 4, 2010 meeting
Wellness and Heritage Committee re: Leisure Services - Snow Angels
Snow Angels is a wonderful idea which would encourage an individual to help remove the snow from someones house who is unable to do so. I know they have a similar program in Calgary and it is very successful.
Report recommendations from the following city departments;
Corporate Services will report on SPCA management of unclaimed animals
Fire and Emergency Services will recommend Policy Approval for Public Access Automated External Defibrillation Program
Leisure Services Department - School Community Connections
Two Bylaws will be discussed:
Report recommendation regarding City of Cranbrook Erosion and Sediment Control Bylaw 3692, 2010
Bylaw 3692 should be given special interest as the city has recommended holding a workshop which would involve CABBDA (Cranbrook and Area Business, Builders & Developers Association) and two other individuals who have commented on this important bylaw. CABBDA has already had the opportunity to comment on this bylaw but has encouraged the city to delay a decision. The city has agreed. Will all future bylaws require this sort of consultation? How much influence does CABBDA have in city hall? We will be reporting further on this interesting issue.
Report recommendation from the Finance and Computer Services Department Borrowing Bylaw 3713, 2010 (first, second, and third reading)
