In the August/September BC Homes Magazine there is an article by Margaret Jetelina about a marketing firm by the name of Braun/Allison. The company was named marketer of the year for 2010 for selling residential real estate. David Allison’s core premise for sales is ‘Sell the Truth’. He maintains consumers don’t want to be bamboozled with emotional and flowery language anymore. They want authenticity. They want more information about everything. Consumers expect dialogue. The article goes on to say traditional advertising is working less effectively and social media networking sites have become mainstream. Using these techniques has made David Allison’s company very successful.
Isn’t the truth all we ever want? Information is so easy to find now people cannot have the wool pulled over their eyes as easily. Frothy advertising and public relations spin is more obvious and can undermine the best of intentions. Congratulations to this company for recognising this.
