Hopping Down the North Star Trail

HAPPY EASTER

If you are looking for something to do this Easter Sunday or Monday, The North Star Trail offers approximately 96 geocaches which are a short hop from one another - perfect for all members of the family. A downloadable geocaching map of the trail is available at:

One of the most exciting things to happen for Cranbrook and Kimberley in the last few years has been the conversion of the connecting railway between the two communities into a non-motorized route for walkers and cyclists.  The North Star Trail is incredibly popular and now it has officially been designated as part of the Trans Canada Trail. The designation will provide potential capital funding of up to 50 per cent for trail infrastructure projects, national and international marketing exposure and some interpretive signage.   We owe our thanks to Bob Whetham, Al Skukas who had the original vision and to both communities administrations, for seeing this project accomplished.

North Star Rails to Trails has a facebook page where current information and many photographs can be found.
