Please, Don't Fence Me In

The fence designed to keep people out at Idlewild can be seen to be a problem for turtles who need to get out.  Word has it, the problem is under discussion - let's hope it is resolved soon.

The fence has apparently been raised to allow for turtle movement.

That's a really sad picture considering that if the City followed the Urban Systems report recommendation to armor (strengthen) the downstream face of the dam or increase its spillway capacity the dam would have been made safe and the lake not lowered at all. Go to City Hall and ask for a copy of the report and read it for youself on P, 1ii of the executive summary
