CDAC Goes From Artsy to Haute Couture

Cranbrook and District Arts Council Presents ‘Art in the Park’ 2014
After the successful summer of Artsy Urban Deer in 2013, the Arts Council is excited to present a summer of bears - Teddy Bears. This year we have 24inch plush and cuddly teddy bears awaiting your creativity and fashion sense.
CDAC invites individuals, families, groups and businesses to purchase and register a bear, cost $25, from the Cranbrook and District Arts Council at 135, Tenth Avenue South.  Bears will also be available throughout the summer (supplies permitting) at the Cranbrook Farmer’s Market and from board members.  There are three categories this year, Under 14years (individual and groups), Over 14years (individual and groups) and Business.  All categories are invited to dress their bear and then bring their bear to the Teddy Bear Picnic in Rotary Park on August 23rd at 11:30 for display and judging.  Cash prizes will be awarded.
We invite businesses to take part in the special 'Teddy Bear Hide and Seek' by dressing their bear, naming him or her and locating him/her within their business for discovery by visitors through the summer.  Business Bears will need to be registered by June 25th and displayed by July 1st.  Clues to help you find all the bruins will be available at the Cranbrook and District Arts Council Gallery after July 1st.    Business bears are also invited to the picnic for judging in their own category.
CDAC wishes to thank Spring Honda for their sponsorship of this event, which is designed as a fundraiser for the Arts Council.
These special CDAC’s 24 inch bears are available for purchase now and we look forward once again to seeing the amazing creativity we know exists in Cranbrook.
