CDAC Awarded City Grant

On Thursday June 6th at the reception for their exhibit, 'Bygone Days', Mayor Wayne Stetski presented the Cranbrook and District Arts Council with the City Grant for $20,350.00.

Throughout the year Cranbrook and District Arts Council provides many different workshops, has monthly rotating exhibits in the Gallery, supports various musical endeavours  including supporting the buskers at the Farmer's Markets by paying for space, provides a venue for a community singing group, pottery group, coordinates the banner over Baker St. provides an office space for the Symphony of the Kootenays and sponsors community events.

The Society has several exciting projects planned for this summer including the Deer Contest and Quest. It is looking forward to expanded school programs in the fall and is actively working towards finding a permanent home where many of the economic stimulating arts and culture activities can be expanded.

The Gallery currently featuring some of the now well-known portraits of Duffy Burton as well as the work of local artists can be found at 135, Tenth Avenue South.
